Called to be One day in Lancashire

Called to be One – Ordinariate Exploration Day
Posted by Masaki

The Lancashire Ordinariate plan’s were a last minute addition to events taking place nationally.

On Saturday 6th September 2014, Lancashire Ordinariate Group hosted a Mass according to the Ordinariate Use at 9 am at the chapel of the Carmelite Monastery, St Vincent’s Road, Fulwood, Preston PR2 9RB at the kind invitation of Sister Teresa of Jesus ODC and the community.

Later that day, they joined with their friends at Manchester Ordinariate Mission for Cream Tea at 3 pm and Choral Evensong at 4 at St Joseph’s, Mary St, Heywood, OL10 1EG.

The group hopes that 9 am Mass at the convent chapel will become a regular event on the first Saturday every month, at which the community and visitors share in the Mass celebrated according to the Ordinariate Use. (This would be a particularly symbolic move for me too, as my great-uncle’s sister, Sister Monica, was a Carmelite at Fulwood Carmel all her adult life, and I corresponded regularly with her and visited her at the Carmel many years ago – David Murphy)
