Animal blessing in Philadelphia

On a lighthearted note Father David Ousley reports:

St Francis and animalsSt Francis’ Feast Day is coming up on October 4th. St Francis is known for his love of animals as well as his love of the cross, and as we have done in the past, we will give you the opportunity to bring your pets for a blessing.

It will be outside (weather permitting) on the lawn in front of St Therese (Upsal & Ardleigh Streets) at noon on Saturday, October 4th. It will be a joint event with Holy Cross (and St Therese and St Madeleine Sophie), and Fr Grogan will be joining me.

Please be sure your pets are under control (we don’t want to lose any!), and be prepared to cut us a little slack if we don’t lay hands on snakes, piranhas, etc. There will be special prayers for any animals who are ill.

Corky sends a special invitation, and says he is looking forward to it.
