The UK Ordinariate’s website reports:
The Ordinary, Mgr Keith Newton, was the principal celebrant at the Southend area Ordinariate Mass for the Solemnity of Our Lady of Walsingham at Holy Family Church, Benfleet, on the evening of Wednesday 24 September. The Southend area group is made up of members of the South Benfleet and Hockley Ordinariate groups.
The preacher was Fr Hugh Allan, O Praem, Prior of the Norbertines. The concelebrants were the groups’ pastors, Fr Lee Bennett and Fr Jeff Woolnough.
During the Mass, Richard Cerson was admitted to candidacy for the permanent diaconate. He was supported by his wife, Karen, and his mother, Norma, both members of the South Benfleet Ordinariate group.
Fr Lee Bennett, leader of the South Benfleet group, said: “it was a wonderful occasion well supported by both groups and and regular parishioners of Holy Family, Benfleet; St Peter’s, Eastwood and St Pius X, Hockley”.
The Mass was followed by a reception in the parish hall, pictured here.
