  1. EPMS says:

Numerous communities of religious which started out Anglican became Catholic before AC was proclaimed. I am sure their former vows were “respected” although like those of Mother Winsome and her group they had to be made anew,ll first individually and then again when they became members of a Catholic religious order. There may be liturgical implications for the worship of the SBVM but the manner of their reception seems to owe little to the erection of the Ordinariate, although that may have provided its impetus for personal reasons.

    EPMS,

You wrote: Numerous communities of religious which started out Anglican became Catholic before AC was proclaimed.

    Yes, absolutely!

Two of the most significant of these communities are the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement and the Franciscan Sisters of the Atonement, popularly called the “Graymoor Friars” and “Graymoor Sisters” because their headquarters are collocated in Graymoor, New York, here in the States. These communities came into the Catholic Church as intact communities in October, 1909, and are credited with inaugurating the Octave of Prayer for Christian Unity in January.
