Neville Rohrlach ordained permanant deacon for the Australian Ordinariate

Father Bill Hannigan has kindly provided us with the following report of the diaconal ordination of Neville Rohrlach for St Thomas à Becket parish of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross. The ordination took place at the hands of Bishop Finnigan at St. Benedict’s Church, East Brisbane, where the Ordinariate community meets.

HELLO TO ALL, I just wish to let you know of the truly wonderful and prayerful Ordination ceremony we had at St. Benedict’s Church last night for the Ordination of Neville Rohrlach into the permanent Diaconate, within the Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross. St Benedict’s church is located in East Brisbane, within the city of Brisbane, the capital city of the state of Qneensland, Australia.

Bishop Brian FINNIGAN D.D., Auxiliary Bishop of Brisbane, was the Ordaining Bishop. Deacon Neville was presented for ordination by The Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, Msgr. Harry Entwistle, PA.

St. Benedict’s church is the principle church of the Ordinariate within Brisbane and is under the leadership of Fr. Anthony Iball, OLSC. The Parish of the Ordinariate is under the patronage of St. Thomas à Becket. The choir, under the direction of James Goldrick, was just wonderful, I am sure it added to the dignity and prayerfulness of the beautiful ceremony of ordination.

Congratulations, Deacon Neville. Please pray for Neville as he enters his ministry as Deacon.

FR. BILL H.       21st JAN. 2015.

Here is a video résumé of the ordination – sorry that you have to turn your heads or the screen to enjoy it:
