Pembury’s new hall is nearing completion

Fr. Ed Tomlinson writes:

The final stretch

Pembury - new hall 1This morning the painters and decorators began to put the final touches on the inside of the hall. The floor is being laid later this week and work has begun on the final render that will complete the external work. All is looking good then for the projected finish on the 12th June … or thereabouts!

Pembury - new hall 2As to the windows installed last week: Here you see our fantastic builders constructing the frame for the wrap-around window which is one of the best features of the new hall.

Pembury - new hall 3The head builder’s ears must have been burning over the weekend as I was singing his praises (and of all the team) to Monsignor John Armitage, who is now the new rector in Walsingham. The head builder, David, is known to him personally and he was therefore unsurprised at how happy we are. “David is the very best” he said. High praise indeed. It turns out that the two have known each other since school days and that David is a devout Catholic.
