As Fr. Timothy Perkins writes on the website of St. Mary the Virgin Church in Arlington, Texas:
On our patronal feast, the Assumption, August 15th at 1 p.m., Thomas Kennedy was ordained deacon by Bishop Michael Olson, Bishop of Fort Worth.
Two weeks later, on the Feast of the Passion of St. John the Baptist, August 29th at 10 o’clock in the morning, he will be ordained priest. These ordinations are on behalf of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, and Tom is being assigned to Saint Mary’s as parochial vicar. He will be assisting me on a part-time basis for the foreseeable future.
We will welcome our new deacon, then priest, along with his wife Chyrel to the ongoing life and ministry of our wonderful parish community.
During these days of preparation and personal adjustment, please keep the Kennedys constantly in your prayers. Of course, we encourage everyone to make every effort to be present for the priestly ordination.
Let us rejoice in the goodness of God toward us, always remembering “that in everything God works for good with those who love him.” Romans 8:28
