DALLAS — Father Timothy Perkins, Parochial Administrator at the Ordinariate Catholic Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Arlington, Texas, was among the select presenters at the National Meeting of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions, Oct. 7 to 9 in Dallas.
Fr. Perkins, who also serves as the Ordinariate’s Director of Liturgy and Worship, offered an afternoon seminar on the liturgy of the Ordinariate and sacramental issues related to Confirmation, Eucharist and Marriage.
Fr. Perkins said he was especially glad for the opportunity to emphasize to liturgists from across the country that the liturgy of the Ordinariate is firmly grounded in the Roman Rite.
His workshop marked the first time an Ordinariate representative presented at the national conference, which was co-sponsored by the U.S. Bishops’ Committee on Divine Worship and the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions.
Fr. Perkins has previously served as a national spokesperson on the Ordinariate’s liturgy. He was invited to write an article, “Divine Worship: The Roman Rite with an Anglican Accent,” which was published in the March 2015 edition of Pastoral Music, the magazine for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians.
