    David,

From your post: On Wednesday 30th September at 7.30 p.m. Michael Halsall of the newly constituted Southend Mission of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham was ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Alan Williams SM in the presence of the Ordinary, Mgr. Keith Newton. (boldface added)

The ordination clearly is good news.

More importantly, there may be a second story in the words that I boldfaced. It sure sounds like another community coming into the ordinariate.

    Norm.

  2. Sorry, Norm, as I have already reported, they are two local groups (South Benfleet and Hockley) amalgamating into one – much like in Philadelphia, except that here the two pastors are priests-in charge of two diocesan parishes. One is the Southend parish where the Ordinariate Mission is hosted. This group currently has two active priests, one retired priest and two deacons! Here are links to the mission’s website and their facebook page.
