I read with interest the update on the Torbay group and their hopes for ministry in the Church of Our Lady of Walsingham and St Cuthbert Mayne, an enterprise the readership of this blog was encouraged to support. At the same time I note that the Fellowship of Bl John Henry Newman,Victoria, BC has voted unanimously to leave their rented church building and share the premises of another local Catholic church. The congregation has spent a lot of time and money since 2012 beautifying St Columba’s , a redundant Anglican church from which the fittings had been removed, and as you can see at blessedjohnhenrynewmanfellowship.ca the results seem lovely. Clearly they do not outweigh the perceived benefits the congregation will receive in the planned partnership. What are the relevant considerations?
