Arlington, Texas – On Dec. 5, clergy and faithful of the Ordinariate communities in North Texas gathered at St. Mary the Virgin Catholic Church in Arlington for reflection and prayer. Fr. Thomas Kennedy to provide leadership for the event.

Advent quiet day Fort Worth 2015The day began with Mass and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by times of silence and guided reflection, and ended with Benediction. Opportunity for confession was provided throughout the day. Topics for the meditations offered by the Ordinariate priests included:

  • 1) “Advent Traditions that Enrich the Spirit”
  • 2) “Marking Time: Establishing Daily Devotions for the Season”
  • 3) “Anticipated Joy: the Wonder of Incarnation.”

Participants expressed their hope that this will become a regular seasonal observance, and plans are underway to offer a similar program for the four Ordinariate communities during Lent.
