RECEPTION: 1PM-3PM

Join Blessed John Henry Newman parish at the Serra Chapel in San Juan Capistrano for a solemn high mass in the Anglican Use of the Roman Rite. This will be Glenn Baaten’s first mass as a Catholic priest! Glenn is a former Anglican priest who will have just been ordained as a Catholic priest two days prior. Bishop Steven Lopes, the first bishop of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter will be presiding from the throne with Bishop Kevin Vann of the Diocese of Orange in (clerical) choir.

Music will be lead by the Tallis Chapel Society and a reception in the courtyard will be catered. Fr. Baaten will give his priestly blessing for those who couldn’t attend his ordination in San Diego and the two bishops and the clergy of the Ordinariate will be available to visit at the reception.

Blessed John’s is located at 2532 Dupont Drive, Irvine CA 92612 and worships in the Queen of Life Chapel. For more information about the parish, see our website: http://www.newmanonline.org/

  1. Adam Armstrong says:

It would be more accurate to say that Glenn Baaten is a former Presbyterian pastor. He was ordained in the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA), but it seems that his priesthood there was very brief.
