Finally a new priest pastor for the Birmingham Ordinariate Mission

Father Simon EllisFr Simon Ellis, currently Group Pastor of the Nottingham Ordinariate Group and Director of Chaplaincy at Mount St Mary’s College and Barlborough Hall School, will be moving at the end of the Academic year to take up new appointments in Birmingham.

He will serve as Priest-in-Charge of the Diocesan parish of St Margaret Mary, Perry Common, and also lead the Birmingham Ordinariate Group. St Margaret Mary’s is a distance of two miles from the convent of the Ordinariate Benedictine Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In the five years of the Ordinariate’s existence Ronald Crane has been ably leading this Group as a layman, and so it is a welcome move for them finally to have their own priest.

Father Simon’s appointment has been made by the Archbishop of Birmingham, The Most Revd. Bernard Longley, in collaboration with The Rt. Revd. Mgr. Keith Newton, Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham.
