Some photos from this year’s three Chrism Masses

This is the first year that all three Personal Ordinariates have held their own Chrism Masses.

The Mass at Warwick Street, London, was celebrated, as every year, by the Papal Nuncio to Britain, Archbishop Antonio Mennini:

The Chrism Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC, was celebrated by Bishop Steven Lopes in the presence of the Papal Nuncio to the US, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, one of his last appointments before his retirement:

  1. EPMS says:

It’s worth noting that this year’s Chrism Mass was the first for the OCSP, and that a significant number of clergy made the journey despite the fact that it was understood that not everyone could undertake expensive travel so soon after going to Houston for Bp Lopes’ ordination. The Chrism Mass will now be celebrated in the Cathedral of OLW and an OCSP parish in alternate years. The 2018 mass will be at St Thomas More, Scranton, Fr Bergman reports in the latest newsletter. http://www.stmscranton.org/
