For those who were unable to be in Walsingham this year (and also as an opportunity for those who were there to renew their experience), you can watch the video of yesterday’s pilgrimage Mass in the Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham by clicking on the screen image below. The Mass was celebrated and the sermon preached by the Ordinary, Monsignor Keith Newton, according to Divine Worship – The Missal.
After the Gospel Sister Mary Joseph renewed her religious vows. Sr. Mary Joseph is a hermit who was originally attached to the Ordinariate community in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. She now lives in the parish of Our Lady of Walsingham and St. Cuthbert Mayne, Chelston, Torbay.
At the Offertory the gifts were brought up by Sister Jane Louise, the remaining Ordinariate Sister of Our Lady of Reconciliation, who is the youth officer at the Shrine, and Sister Carolyne, who five and a half years ago was Sr. Jane Louise’s mother superior when both were still Anglican Sisters of Saint Margaret. Both sisters and the late Sr. Wendy Renate were received into the Catholic Church on 1st January 2011 and together formed the first Ordinariate community of sisters. When the Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary were received as an Ordinariate Benedictine community, Sr. Carolyne joined them but later discovered that her vocation lay with the Community of Our Lady of Walsingham, a new Catholic community of sisters and brothers based in the Diocese of Brentwood and at Walsingham. Sr. Carolyne made her first vows in this community last year.
